The APSSP represents paraprofessional staff in their employment on the Board of Directors. The current collective agreement between the parties expires on August 31, 2019. On May 10, 2019, the bargaining agent representing the APSSP at the provincial level, in accordance with the Collective Defence Act (SBCBA), the Ontario Workers` Alliance (EWAO), sent its notice of bargaining to the Ontario Catholic Trustees` Association (OCSTA). The parties to the SBCBA are in the process of scheduling a first collective bargaining meeting for their respective central bargaining table on June 19, 2019. Information on professional measures and the expected direct impact on student learning, including the management of the Grade 9 AQA assessment, will be provided as soon as details become available. The Ontario English Catholic Teachers` Association (OCDETA) announced today its intention to start work on Monday, January 13, 2020 in the absence of an agreement. The Board of Directors shall ensure that all recordings and information (including offence reports and CPIC recordings) received in accordance with the Education Act and education legislation are kept in a safe place and in a confidential manner. Any disciplinary measure relating to the criminal background check or the declaration of offence prescribed by the regulation may be the subject of a complaint. It is considered and agreed that a school principal or vice-principal may not be prevented from performing the duties of a teacher. ARTICLE 2 – PERIOD OF VALIDITY 2.01 The duration of this Agreement is from 1 September 2008 to 31 August 2012 inclusive.
